POSITION SUMMARY
The ELD/Reading Intervention Teacher is a highly effective teacher with experience teaching critical reading skills and strategies to secondary students experiencing difficulties in core academic learning, due to literacy deficits. The ELD/Reading Intervention Teacher will provide struggling readers with explicit and targeted instruction to close literacy gaps, and ensure that students are equipped to read and understand text in order to access grade-level content. The ELD/Reading Intervention Teacher will use multiple forms of assessment data to address the specific needs of each individual learner, and monitor student growth and progress. The ELD/Reading Intervention Teacher is responsible for teaching intervention classes in addition to working collaboratively with the instructional leadership team, and content teachers, to model and coach for integrating literacy strategies and best practices into all classrooms. This is a full-time, exempt, non-year-round position.

Support school-wide literacy instruction
